Mary C. Stanish, 77


POLAND ­ There will be funeral services held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial
at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church for Mary C. Stanish, 77, who passed away
peacefully Sunday evening.
Mary was born July 20, 1930 in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Mary
Kuntara Nemec.
Mary was a 1948 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
She was a member of the SETON Circle and St. Charles Church. She was a
former member of St. Dominic Church.
Mary was an avid traveler and was a member of many bridge clubs with
lifelong friends. She enjoyed her Class of 1948 luncheons that were held
monthly. Mary cherished sharing time with her daughters and family.
Her husband, Joseph Stanish, whom she married Sept. 9, 1950, passed away
July 20, 1997.
Mary leaves four daughters, Cheryl John Ponigar of Poland, Janice Dave
Hurford of Canfield, Marleah Tom Campbell of Cortland, and JoAnn Dan
Naughton of Canfield; a brother, Stanley Nemec of Oklahoma; and eight
grandchildren, Carri Toto, Sherri Pesce, Kelly Dobransky, Jason and Derek
Hurford, Christopher and Nicole Casanta, and Joelle Battista.
Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers,
John and Mike Nemec.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
