Youngstown - There will be services Monday at 9:30 AM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church for Mary K. Stein who passed away Thursday morning peacefully at her home after an extended illness surrounded by her family.
Mary was born November 18, 1933 in Worthington, W.VA, a daughter of John J. & Addie Carr Erickson.
She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School. Mary worked at Ohio Bell, St. Elizabeth Hospital and retired in 1978 from Sears. She was an excellent cook and baker always willing to share her many recipes. She was an avid bingo player. She was a member of St. Joseph Church.
Mary leaves her husband Raymond Stein whom she married July 4, 1953; her children Deborah Ron Parrag, Barbara Stiner, Mary "Betsy" Howard, Ray Lori Stein, and Charlene "Cherrie" Stein all of Youngstown; a sister Barbara Erickson of New Springfield; a brother John Miriam Erickson of Port St. Lucie, FL; a sister-in-law Thelma Amendol; thirteen grandchildren Andy, Jason, Ashley, and Matthew Stiner, Chuck, AJ, and Mike Greenwalt, Eddie and Brandon Hughes, Ryan Stein, Sean and Jude Koury and Justin Lemmo; seven great grandchildren and many wonderful and caring life long friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter Carole Leah Stein.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
The family thanks Hospice of the Valley for their support and guidance during Mary?s illness.
