Youngstown- Funeral services will be 1PM Wednesday in the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Mary D. Turner, age 94, of formerly of Rhoda Ave. on the city's Westside, who died Saturday at Briarfield Manor.
Mary was born in Clearfield County Pennsylvania February 2, 1915 to Stephen And Mary Kotulak Korfant.
The family later moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Where as a young woman met and married her husband Joseph Turner, Jr. of Youngstown who passed away December 30, 1967. They moved to
Youngstown in 1936.
Mary enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening, and playing cards. She was a member of the Pine Lee Garden Club of Poland and a member-at-large of the Garden Forum of Youngstown and volunteer at the "old" Fellows Riverside Garden Center for many years.
Mary is survived by sons Joseph Rita Turner, III. of Spring, Texas, and Russell Turner of Austintown, and daughter Judith Joseph Pasquarella of Hubbard; sister Elizabeth Kalal of Strongsville, and sister-in-law Alberta Korfant of Cleveland.; and eight grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents and her in-laws Joseph and Theresa Turner, daughter-in-law Linda Turner; brothers John Kotula, Steve, Joseph, John, Michael and George Korfant; sisters Margaret, Helen, and Ruth Korfant; sister and brother-in-law Margaret and John Ashley and sister-in-law Theresa Onda, and great grandson Nicholas Jankowski.
Friends may call Wednesday from 11am to 1pm at the funeral home.
