NORTH JACKSON - A prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Austintown, for Mrs. Mary J. Voytko, 87, formerly of Austintown, who died Monday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
She was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of Michael and Dominica Terlecky.
Mary was a 1944 graduate of The Rayen School, a charter member of the church, a member of its senior citizens group , Altar and Rosary Society and the American Legion Auxiliary No. 301.
She had worked at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes for 30 years as a receptionist. Mary was always a kind, caring person and always tried to help people when they needed help the most.
One of her greatest joys in her life was spending time with her great-grandchildren. Her love for them was immeasurable.
She leaves her two sons, Thomas (Kathy) Voytko of New Middletown and Dennis (Debbie) Voytko, with whom she made her home; five grandchildren, Steven Voytko, Dan (Lori) Voytko, Andrew (Marianna) Voytko, Danielle (Martin) Jourdan and Dana Voytko; and six great-grandchildren, Merrill, Leigha, Olivia and Rita Voytko and Jocelyn and Julia Jourdan.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Voytko; a sister, Anne Ratie; two brothers, John and William Terlecky; and her husband, Thomas J. Voytko.
Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions maybe made in memory of Mary to the Immaculate Heart of Mary's Altar and Rosary Society.
