CANFIELD - A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 11:30 AM at St. Christine Church for Maryann Elizabeth Barnett age 66 formerly of Tippecanoe Rd. Canfield who passed away Friday morning at her home after a one year illness.
Maryann was born December 20, 1938, in Fayett County, PA, the daughter of Frank and Irene Pato Zedek.
A 1956 graduate of Chaney High School, she began working at the Standard Slag Cooperation before becoming the owner operator of Ashley Place Care Center, and later owned and operated Pathway Geriatric Hospital before retiring in 2001. She had been a member of St. Christine Church, Angles for Easter Seals, the Stambaugh Pillars, and the Butler Institute of American Art.
Her husband Ronald P. Barnett whom she married February 16, 1963, died February 20, 1973.
She is survived by her sister Patricia A. and husband Don Macejko with whom she made her home, three brothers, Robert and wife Nancy Zedek of Youngstown, Ronald and wife Kathleen Zedek of Hubbard, and Stanley Zedek of Austintown.
Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by an infant brother Adam Zedek.
Friends may call Monday morning for one hour prior to services at St. Christine Church.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society of Hospice of the Valley.
