Matthew A. Palma, 89, passed away peacefully at Hospice House.
He was born in Youngstown on January 3, 1935.
Matthew's journey was one filled with dedication and service. He graduated from South High School in 1952 and went on to honorably serve his country in the Army. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Matthew was known for his love of golf and his culinary skills. His unique talent was the ability to turn anyone's favorite dish into a lasting memory. He was able to showcase his fabulous golf game with friends at Holy Family Golf League.
Matthew was surrounded by love. He is survived by his loving wife, Madlyn Murphy Palma, whom he shared 57 beautiful years of marriage; his two children, Jillene Palma of Irvine, CA, and Mark Palma (Heather Kampine) of Concord Township, his grandchildren, Taylor Palma, Ryan Palma, Jack Kampine, and Olivia Kampine; his brother Joseph (Donna) Palma of Columbia, SC and sister Marie (Fred) Kifer of Boardman.
He joins his parents, Peter and Concetta Perfetto Palma, and brother Paul Palma in eternal peace.
Services to honor and remember Matthew A. Palma will take place at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Parish in Boardman. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM on Monday February 26th followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
Professional arrangements are being handled by Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
