Michael Micko

September 12, 1964 — April 25, 2016

Poland- Michael N. Micko Jr. age 51, of Poland, Ohio and formerly of Washington, D.C., died Monday April 25, 2016 peacefully at Hospice House surrounded by his loved ones and closest friends after a long illness.
He was born on September 12, 1964 in Youngstown, Oh., son of the late Michael N. Micko Sr. and Mildred (VonKennen) Micko. Michael was a 1983 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School.
With Michael's flare for style his career started while attending Youngstown State University working in various clothing stores located in Southern Park Mall. He then headed to Washington D.C. in 1987 and started his career in banking with various positions.
Michael moved back to Youngstown in September of 2010 and was Retail Branch Support Manager for First Place Bank. After a merger he worked for Talmer Bank and Trust as a DAP Central Review Supervisor until September of 2015.
With Michael's vibrant personality he touched everyone professionally and socially in some amazing way.
He will be remembered for his love of dancing, old movies and musicals, times at the beach and especially the music of Bette Midler and Whitney Houston.
Michael leaves behind a sister, Michelle McMillen (Bill) of Hubbard, a beloved nephew, Robert McMillen (Christine) of New York City, God-daughter, who was his "Boo-Boo", Madeline Johnston of Lewis Center, Ohio, best friend Michael Cerretelli of Alexandria, VA, Aunt Mary Jane Toda of Hubbard and many cousins and close friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the members of Hospice, also in lieu of flowers please donate any donations to the Hospice House.
Calling hours for Michael will take place Monday, May 9, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Poland Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Dominic Church Youngstown, Ohio.
