YOUNGSTOWN - Michael A. Niles, 76, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
He was born on March 8, 1948, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Clarence and Katherine "Kay" Altier Niles.
Mike was a 1966 graduate of Wilson High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War, as a military police officer. He was a dedicated technician at Packard Electric for 40 years, having retired in 2006.
Mike was a man of many passions and interests. As a member of Local Union 717, he served as a committeeman and actively contributed to the union. His love for cars was evident through his prized possession, a 1967 Mustang Fastback. Additionally, he found joy in bike riding and had a special fondness for Sunrise Pizza of Warren.
Michael enjoyed photography, music and traveling. He had a unique hobby of collecting restaurant memorabilia such as coasters, hats and menus. Notably, Michael's greatest joy in life was found in his children. They were the center of his world and he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jim Clark; and his aunt and uncle, Josephine and Pat Bengiveno.
He is survived by his children, Mike (Amy) Niles II of Austintown, Lauren (Brian) Ohl of Canfield, and Marty (Angie) Niles of Boardman; sister, Susan Clark; brother, Ken (Maryann) Niles; grandchildren, Erica Ramirez-Niles, Luna Niles, Oliver Ohl, Aila and Aria Niles; and his closest friend, John J. (Melanie) Timlin.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m., with calling hours one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 4303 Mahoning Ave.
Mike will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
