Michael Pavlik

CANFIELD - Prayers will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Church for Michael G. Pavlik, 90, who passed away Friday evening at Hospice House.

Michael was born Sept. 10, 1921, in Youngstown, the son of the late Paul and Anna Yurko Pavlik.

Michael graduated from Chaney High School and attended Texas A&M University. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II. Michael was co-owner of Metalcrafts, Inc. until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Concord Club and VFW Buckley Post. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He had also been an avid golfer and bowler throughout his life.

His first wife, Bernice Hudach Pavlik, whom he married May 7, 1949, passed away July 25, 1989.

Michael leaves his second wife, the former Laura Riek, whom he married Nov. 5, 1994; his five daughters, Michalyn Pavlik of Havre de Grace, Md., Barbara Thomas Wrenn of Morgantown, W.Va., Patricia Gregory Tudor of Canfield, Mary Ellen Gene Friend of Finksburg, Md. and Lori Thomas Trefethern of Canfield; two sisters, Mary Mackovic of Youngstown and Pauline Joseph Shiller of Youngstown; six grandchildren, Deanna Wrenn Martin, Jennifer Wrenn Marinelli, Jessica and Nathan Friend, Michael and Carly Trefethern and Kristina Tudor; and a great-granddaughter, Quinn Martin.

Michael was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Paul Pavlik.

Family and friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Material tributes may take the form of donations to the Hospice House.

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
