CANFIELD - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Byzantine Church in Campbell, for Michael Alan Vrable, 29, who died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016.
Michael was born Jan. 7, 1987, in Youngstown, the son of Dr. Alex and Annette (Lipari) Vrable.
He was a 2005 graduate of Canfield High School and earned a Bachelor's of General Science Degree from Youngstown State University. Michael was currently attending the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.
He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. While attending school, Michael worked as a medical assistant along side his father.
Michael was a member of St. Michael Church and the Greek Catholic Union.
In his spare time, Michael enjoyed playing hockey, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was a proud Mustang owner. He was a self-taught carpenter and electrician and an accomplished pianist.
Michael is survived by his parents, Dr. Alex and Annette Vrable of Canfield; sister Dr. Abby Vrable of Canfield; brother Dr. Alex J. Vrable Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C.; and grandmother Antoinette Lipari of Boardman.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Al and Mary Vrable; maternal grandfather, Judge Jack Lipari; and cousin Steven Malutic.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
Because the family was so proud of Michael for his service to his country, they have requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675.
