AUSTINTOWN - Private services were held for Mike Naples, 94, who died early Wednesday morning at Hospice House.
Mike was born Aug. 14, 1922, in Youngstown, the son of Sam and Beatrice (Joy) Naples.
He was a 1942 graduate of Scienceville High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduation. Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served his country during World War II. He worked for Erie Railroad and Conrail as a brakeman and yard conductor for 33 years until retiring in 1981.
His wife, the former June Bisconti, whom he married Oct. 24, 1946, died July 18, 2000.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Lorna Naples of Austintown; two sons, Rex (Bobbie) of Austintown and Lance Naples of Youngstown; and granddaughter Jessica (Chris) Grilli.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters Lucy Bianco, Carmel Sanders, and Minnie Bisconti; and brothers Carl, Andrew, and Joseph Naples.
