Mildred Ferrell

August 25, 1925 — April 5, 2011

YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Church for Mildred I. Ferrell, 85, who passed away Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Mildred was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late John S. and Katherine Uhrin Kasmer.

Mildred graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She was a bookkeeper for Kings Jewelry for over 30 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Christine Church.

Mildred was an avid golf and card player. She was president of the Girard Senior Ladies Golf League and a member of several area golf leagues. She also bowled at Kay Lanes.

Mildred loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them, especially Sunday dinners.

Her husband, Wilbur G. Ferrell Jr., passed away May 8, 2000.

Mildred leaves her five children, Kathleen Tom Moore of Hanoverton, Debra DelQuadri of Austintown, Nancy Logero of Youngstown, Jerry Debbie Ferrell of Boardman and Jacqueline Ferrell of Austintown; a brother, Robert Joyce Kasmer of Boardman; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Margaret Bush; and a brother, William Kasmer.

Family and friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
