RICHMOND HEIGHTS - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Mildred L. Fowler, 87, formerly of Austintown, who died Sunday evening at Richmond Hospital.
Mildred was born March 7, 1924, in Star Junction, Pa., the daughter of John and Anna Adamchick.
She was a graduate of Farrell High School and later became the owner operator of the Taste and Tell Bakery for over 20 years, retiring in 1972.
She was a former member of St. Brendan and St. Joseph Churches.
Mildred was an avid bridge player and had earned the title of Life Master. She was also a member of the Red Hat society and was a lifelong Cleveland Indians fan.
She is survived by a son, Frank Linda Geuss of Traverse City, Mich.; two stepsons, David Fowler of Cleveland and Richard Darlene Fowler of Cleveland; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Her first husband, Wallace Geuss, whom she married April 5, 1945, died in 1971, her second husband, David Fowler, whom she married in 1973, died in 1981. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen and Mary and three brothers, John, Joe and Andy.
Friends may call Friday morning from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Kidney Foundation in Mildred's memory.
