POLAND-Private graveside services will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Hanoverton for Mildred I. Rufener age 86 who passed away Friday evening at her home in Poland.
Mildred was born January 12, 1921, in Hanoverton, the daughter of Edward and Myrtle Shaw Stuckey.
She was a graduate Kensington Augusta High School. She had been the owner operator with her husband of the Dairy Isles in Poland and Canfield, and later worked at the dairy Queen in Struthers.
She is survived by three daughters, Wanda Norman Casto of Salem, Melinda Chris Mezzolesta of North Carolina, and Mary Rufener of Sharon, a son Michael S. Rufener of Poland, two step sons Dale Rufener of East Liverpool and Jesse Rufener of Lisbon, two brothers, Chester and Frank Stuckey, and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Herman P. Rufener, October 15, 2003, and two brothers James and Edwin Stuckey, and three sisters, Hazel Stuckey, Martha Altonhof, and Betty Bartley.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to MVI Hospice in Mildred's memory.
