CANFIELD - Private services were held today for Mrs. Mildred Vlajkovich, 88, who passed away peacefully at the Hospice House.
Mildred was born in Youngstown and was the daughter of Mike and Susan Sproch Raykovich.
She married Tom on Sept. 25, 1943 and he died June 11, 1983.
Mildred was a member of the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church and was active in the Circle of Serbian Sisters. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, baking and canning.
She will be sadly missed by her two children, Mary Sue Vlajkovich and Tom Vlajkovich, both of Canfield; two grandchildren, Andy Vlajkovich of Kent and Nicole Vlajkovich of Canfield; and three sisters, Marion Nicholson of Champion, Julia Kornokovich of Peach Tree, Ga. and Martha Joe Mesaros of Campbell.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Ruby Booth, Dorothy Arquilla and Madeline Maguire; two half sisters, Irene Babik and Lydia Balciar; and two half brothers, Paul Komoda and Albert Zienka.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
Arrangements are by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
