AUSTINTOWN-Services will be Saturday morning at 9:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Miles I. Huntington Jr., 82 who passed away early Wednesday morning at Briarfield at the Ridge after an extended illness.
Miles was born September 20, 1924, in Youngstown, the son of Miles I. and Lottie Glover Huntington.
He was a 1942 graduate of South High School, and later served as a flight instructor in the Army Air Corps during W.W.II. After his service to our country he attended Youngstown College. He had worked for Ohio Bell for over 38 years, retiring as district traffic manager in 1979. He was also a member of the Ohio Bell Pioneers, and the Youngstown Management Association. He was a charter member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where he had served as an usher and on parish council.
He is survived by his wife the former Jean McNeeley Kovacs whom he married June 8, 1946, three daughters, Mary Jo Joseph Ruscak, Nancy Robert Alleman, and Diane David Bees all of Austintown, two sons, Miles I. Cheryl Huntington III of Austintown, and Brian T. Susan Huntington of Champion, eight grandchildren Joe, Jessica, Scott, Breanna, Miles, Chelsie, Alena, and Emarie, three step grandchildren Angela, Elizabeth, and Jacob, and four great-grandchildren, Sam, Anna, Audrey, and Emily.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, a sister Helen, and a brother Henry.
Friends may call from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM Saturday morning in the church.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Miles memory.
