YOUNGSTOWN - A memorial Mass will be held Friday, at 11:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Morton R. Suber, 72, who died Monday morning at Hospice House, surrounded by his family.
Morton was born June 25, 1943, in New Castle, Pa., the son of Joseph and Rosemary (Guckert) Suber.
He was a graduate of New Castle High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Morton worked in security at GM and retired after 32 years. Morton was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the Moose Club. Throughout his life, he enjoyed the lasting friendships made while dancing with his lovely wife, fishing, hunting and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Morton's greatest joy was his family, four wonderful grandchildren and close friends. Morton loved to spend his days watching his grandchildren compete in all their sporting activities.
Morton is survived by his wife, the former Saundra Carbone, whom he married Aug. 10, 1963; two daughters, Laura Suber of Columbus and Diane (Ken) McMillin of Delaware, Ohio; son Ronald (Geneva) Suber of Delaware, Ohio; sister Ida May Suber of New Castle; brother William (Janet) Suber of New Castle; and four grandchildren, Gregory, Lauren, Sydney and Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Frenchie Suber.
Family and friends may call Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, with mass to immediately follow.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrot Road, Poland, OH 44514 or donations to a charity of your choice.
