POLAND - Prayers will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon at the Holy Family Church for Myron J. Dobkowski SRPA, 71, who passed away suddenly on Sunday.
Myron was born Nov. 13, 1944, in Youngstown, a son of the late Stanley J. and Mary A. (Kollar) Dobkowski.
Myron was a 1962 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and received his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Youngstown State University. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged Aug. 8, 1968. Myron was the chief real estate appraiser for Home Savings. He was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Holy Family Church. He was also a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, a member of the Poland Community Baseball Association, and was a former president of the Appraisal Institute.
Myron enjoyed fishing, gardening, bowling, playing chess and checkers, and doing home improvements. He was an avid Indians and Steelers fan. Myron loved to attend his grandsons' ball games and sporting events. His greatest love was for his family, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Myron leaves his son, Jay (Beth) Dobkowski of Hinckley; daughter Carla (Mike) Bettross of Poland; four grandchildren, Jake, Alex, Gabe and Nick; sister Estelle; and nephews Ron and Randy.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to the Holy Family Church.
