Myron Michael Zets, 65
AUSTINTOWN There will be services Saturday at 9 a.m. at the
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 9:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church for Myron Michael Zets, 65, who
passed away Tuesday evening at Forum Health Northside Medical Center following a 10-week battle with cancer.
Myron was born April 14, 1941 in Youngstown, the son of Michael and MarySenchesak Zets.
A 1959 Austintown Fitch High School graduate, he received a B.A. in math and economics from Youngstown State University in 1968. He was a senior production planner in the merchandising department at Goodyear Tire and
Rubber Co., retiring in September of 2003 after 35 years of service. Upon retirement, he was a volunteer tax aide and volunteered at Fellows Riverside
Gardens.
He was a member of the YSU Alumni Association, the Ohio Cultural Alliance and the Youngstown Playhouse and was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter & Paul
Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Layshock Zets, whom he married Jan. 20, 1963; two sons, Dr. Jeffrey M. Zets of Richmond Heights and Todd P. Zets
and wife Diane Dragus Zets of Copley; a brother, Gerald Elizabeth Zets of Canfield; two sisters, Beverly Jerry Zelonish of Spring, Texas, and Cheryl
Thomas Danko of Canfield; a sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Layshock of Cortland; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Sarah Layshock of Austintown and
Richard of Phoenix; and several nieces, nephews and especially his Pinegrove Avenue neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother- and father-in-law, Peter and Margaret Layshock; and a brother-in-law, Robert Layshock.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made in Myron¹s memory to a charity of the donor¹s choice.
