Mrs. Nancy (Kohut) D’Amico born on May 13,1935 to Michael and Mary (Pawuk) Kohut passed away on April 24, 2024 at the age of 88 at her home with her family members by her side.
Nancy graduated from Ursuline High School in 1953 and began working at Ohio Bell. She married Dominic D’Amico on September 17, 1955. After the birth of her children she devoted herself fully to the care and upbringing of her family, ensuring a loving and nurturing home environment.
In later years she worked at Giant Eagle in Austintown. She was a member of St. Brendan’s Church for close to 70 years. Nancy loved holidays, especially Christmas. She loved to decorate and keep family traditions alive. She enjoyed visiting casinos, especially trips to Las Vegas with her girls as well as beach vacations. . She found great joy in listening to Elvis, his melodies serving as a soundtrack to her moments of happiness and reflection. Most recently she enjoyed keeping up with friends and family via social media.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Shawn (Dan) Devin of Boardman, Lisa of Austintown, with whom she made her home and Michelle (Alan) Copeland of Canal Winchester; her grandchildren, Dominic Devin (Nicole Moore) of South Carolina, Danielle (Gary) Haffely of PA; a great grandson, Henry Haffely whom she cherished, several nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dominic D’Amico, brothers William Kohut and Michael Kohut. Sisters Ann Hanni, Stephanie Yozwiak, Helen Coleman and Katherine Kohut.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her niece MaryKay Coleman. Her love, compassion and unwavering support were a beacon of light during Nancy’s last years. Her presence brought comfort and strength to our family, and her kindness will be forever remembered and cherished.
Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday April 27 from 9 to 9:45 AM at St. Brendan Church, 2800 Oakwood Ave. Youngstown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM.
