BOARDMAN – Funeral services will be held on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, for Mrs. Nanette Walker, 81, who died at her residence on Monday.
Nanette was born Oct. 13,1937, in Willock, Pa., a daughter of Dayton and Sophie Bokesch Peters.
She graduated from Youngstown State University with a Nursing and Nutrition degree and had worked for the Food & Commercial Union as a meat wrapper.
Nanette was a member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church, where she actively volunteered. She loved to garden, volunteering with the Ohio State Gardeners. Nanette had won first place at the Canfield Fair this year for her peppers.
She married Richard D. Walker Sr. in 1964 and he died in 2003.
Nanette leaves her son, Richard D. (Colleen) Walker Jr. of Struthers; her sister, Shelby Jean (Richard) McGee of Boardman; her two brothers, David Peters of Washington State and Clayton Peters of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, James, Charles and Franklin Peters.
Friends may call on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Rd. (Rt.224).
