Neil Bartalon

CANFIELD - Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel, for Neil T. Bartalon, 67, who died Monday morning at Hospice House surrounded by his family.

Neil was born April 27, 1947, in Farrell, Pa., to James and Margaret Evans Bartalon.

He was a graduate of Hickory High School and attended Youngstown State University.

Neil worked as a foreman for Kirila Contractors in Brookfield for 30 years until his retirement in 1999.

Neil was a member of the Laborers' District a Council of Western Pa., Local 964. He attended the United Methodist Church of Canfield. Neil was an avid fisherman, enjoyed the outdoors, and had a passion for Rock and Roll.

He is survived by his wife, the former Sandra Connery, whom he married Aug. 22, 1970; a daughter, Callie (Zachary) Puskar of Columbus; a son, Jason (Kathleen) Bartalon of Columbus; a sister, Diane Poldy of Fairfax, Va.; a brother, Jamie (Rebecca) Bartalon of Arlington, Va.; two grandchildren, Evelyn and Madeline Bartalon; and his kidney donor, Jolene Smith.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage, Pa.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Advanced Dermatology of Youngstown for their support, the Cleveland Clinic and Hospice House of the Valley for their care and compassion during his last few days.
