Nicholas Blinsky

POLAND - Prayers will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Savior, St. Nicholas Church for Nicholas C. Blinsky, 48, who passed away Monday evening at the Cleveland Clinic.

Nick was born Dec. 6, 1970, in Youngstown, a son of Leroy and Mary (DeMarco) Blinsky.

Nick was a 1989 graduate of Struthers High School. He received a Bachelor Degree from Clemson University, where he played as a center on their football team. Nick was a licensed real estate agent and operations manager at Byce Auction for 10 years, where he was a valued associate who helped grow the business year after year. Nick enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a member of the Duck Club.

Nick leaves his beloved wife, the former Jill S. Lightner, whom he married June 19, 2010; his parents, Leroy and Mary Blinsky of Poland; his two daughters, who he adored, Paityn and Paige Blinsky, at home; a niece, Gianna Sansone of Struthers; a nephew, Victor Sansone Jr. of Struthers; mother-in-law Dorothy Lightner of Boardman; father-in-law Edward Lightner of New Springfield; sister-in-law Karen Lightner of Ocean City, N.J.; and his canine companion, Bianca.

Nick was preceded in death by his sister, Denise Sansone.

Family and friends may call Friday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
