Nicholas Stanich

October 1, 1930 — June 2, 2008

POLAND ­ Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Nicholas David Stanich, 77, who
passed away Monday evening at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born Oct. 1, 1930 in Lowellville, the son of Stella Mash.

Nick was a 1950 graduate of Lowellville High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed at the U.S. Postal Office in the main branch in
Youngstown, up until his illness, for over 25 years as a letter carrier. He also worked at Youngstown Sheet & Tube for many years.

He was a member of the Holy Family Church where he served as an usher. Nick was a Notre Dame fan and enjoyed sports. His greatest love was for his
family, especially his grandchildren.

Nick leaves his wife, the former Lucille Solis, whom he married Sept. 15, 1962; two daughters, Milene Jack Lyons of Cypress, Texas and MarleneCraig Kotulock of Wooster; a son, Mark Cathy Stanich of Poland; a sister, Mary Lucido of Lowellville; 10 grandchildren, Moira, Reagan, Darcy and Joseph Lyons, Adam, Halle, and Logan Kotulock, and Cole, Gianna and Isabella Stanich; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Mash; John Rossi who was like a stepfather to him; and his twin brother, Lou Stanich.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
