YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will begin Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown, for Nicholas E. Yovick Jr., 59, who died Saturday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Austintown Emergency.
Nicholas was born Nov. 25, 1954, in Youngstown to Nicholas Sr. and Dorothy Storsin Yovick.
He was a graduate of South High School and owned and operated Westside Electronics for over 20 years, until his retirement in 2004.
Nicholas had a passion for car shows and race cars, and loved all animals, especially his bunnies. He also enjoyed working on computers and Martial Arts.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, whom he married Oct. 11, 1975; his mother, Dorothy Yovick; two daughters, Christina (Steph) Yovick of Youngstown and Amanda (Marv) Sevilla of Austintown; a sister Rose Marie (Pat) Connolly of Austintown; a sister-in-law, Earlene Caruso of Tennessee; a nephew David (Dorothy) Caruso of Tennessee; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Gary Yovick and Carmen Caruso.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations in care of the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes to help the family.
