AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Norman D. Galich, 71, who passed away Tuesday evening at his home, peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Norman was born June 9, 1947, in Youngstown, a son of the late, Daniel D. and Ann (Hanigosky) Galich.
As a young child, he was introduced to fishing and grew to truly appreciate all aspects of nature. Norm was an avid fisherman and hunter in his free time.
Norman was a 1965 graduate of Struthers High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Youngstown State University in 1979. He did further studies to become a journeyman. Norman worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube until their closing. He retired as a machinist from J.A.S. Manufacturing.
Norman is survived by his wife, the former Jean C. DeRamo, whom he married Sept. 13, 1969; a daughter, Gina (Richard Jr.) Galich-Tunison of Austintown; three sons, Keith Galich of Struthers, Scott Galich of Wilson, N.C., and Daniel (Jessica) Galich of Macomb, Mich.; three beautiful grandchildren, Madison, Olivia, and Sophia Galich; a sister, Nancy DeRamo of Canfield; and a brother, Michael (June) Galich of Boardman.
Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
