AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Norman C. Gallagher, 87, who died comfortably at his home early Tuesday morning.
Norman was born May 6, 1927, in Youngstown, the son of Samuel and Lavina (Clever) Gallagher.
He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War, and later worked as a truck driver as a member of Teamsters Local No. 377. He had worked for numerous companies, but primarily for Loblow's and C.C.C. Highway Trucking. Norm was also a member of the Four Mile Run Christian Church and enjoyed camping and fishing with his wife.
His wife, the former Marykay Wetherbee, whom he married Oct. 22, 1949, died May 20, 2001.
He is survived by three daughters Virginia Berasi of Canfield, Sandra (Robert Jr.) Jones of McDonald and Deborah (Craig) Woodruff of Austintown; a son, Norman (Tess) Gallagher of Austintown; a sister, Beverley (Kennith) Dicks of Boardman; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Hummer and Jane Kostik.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
