Odette Naffah

CANFIELD - Services will be Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Maron Church for Odette A. Naffah age 85 of Canfield who died Thursday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Odette was born February 18, 1919, in Beit Chebab, Lebanon, the daughter of Amine and Takla Naffah.
After being married in Lebanon she came to Canfield in May of 1950 to reside on her husband Assad's family farm. She was a homemaker, and had been the operator of Ironwood Funland in Canfield for over 20 years. She and her family were one of the founding families of the Our Lady of Lebanon National Shrine in North Jackson were she had formerly been an active volunteer, and was a member of its 25 club. She was a member of St. Maron's Church, where she was one of the eldest members of its congregation. She was also a member of the Newton Square Ladies Club. She had enjoyed gardening, knitting, and cooking and baking for family and friends, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters.
Her husband Assad Farris Naffah whom she married February 18, 1950, died December 6, 1969.
She is survived by two sons Michal A. and his wife Karen Naffah of Canfield, and Eli A. and his wife Cindy of Ferndale, California, two granddaughters, Mallory Lynn Naffah of Canfield, and Shauna Maria Naffah of Ferndale, California, a sister Marie Naffah, three brothers, Joseph, and Georges Naffah, and Elie and his wife Dalal Naffah, a niece whom she loved as a daughter, Henriette and her husband Choucralla Turki of Hickory, NC, her loving caregiver, Jeanne' Essad of Youngstown, and numerous nieces and nephews located all over the world.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Naffah, and Margo Jabre, and a brother John Naffah.
Friends may call from 3 PM to 7 PM Sunday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to the Our Lady of Lebanon National Shrine 2759 Lipkey Rd. North Jackson, Ohio 44451, or the Assad and Odette Naffah memorial scholarship fund c/o the St. Maron Education Fund 1555 S. Meridian Rd. Youngstown, Ohio 44511.
