CANFIELD - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Christine Church for Olga T. Olson, 96, who entered into eternal rest Friday evening at her home with her family by her side.
Olga was born July 3, 1917, in Gallitzin, Pa., a daughter of the late Gabriel and Mary (Kish) Boldizar.
Olga was a waitress for Oriental Ballroom and then a seamstress for Shirt Factory in Gallitzin, Pa. After moving to this area from Gallitzin, she made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Fred Wolf for 17 years and most recently with her other daughter, Deborah Hammond for the last three years.
Olga was a member of St. Christine Church and the Arie No. 3298 Eagles. She enjoyed painting ceramics, baking her horseshoe Christmas cookies, picking blueberries and watching Elvis. Olga was very proud of her Hungarian heritage and she loved her Polkas. Her greatest love was for her family, especially her generous time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Olga was known for her great sense of humor and she will be deeply missed.
Olga leaves her daughter, Deborah Hammond of Canfield; her son, Gerald Gnapp of Boardman; her son-in-law, Fred Wolf of Canfield; a brother, George Boldizar of Gallitzin; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Olga was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Gnapp; second husband, John Olson; a daughter, Patricia Wolf; a grandson, Kevin Gnapp; and 12 siblings.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
Olga's family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for all of their care, especially Marilyn, Danielle, and Joanne and all other family and friends for all of their care.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley.
