AUSTINTOWN - Olwen Markulin, 91, went to be with her Lord Monday afternoon at Austinwoods Nursing Center.
Olwen was born May 6, 1918, in Wales to the late Robert and Ester Jones Purnell. She came to the United States when she was two years old.
She was a nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital for over 30 years, and a member of the Highway Tabernacle. She was a former member of the Eagles, Aerie No. 213.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Markulin, who died in 1988; and a brother, Clifford Purnell.
Olwen leaves a daughter, Ginny Herb Andrews of Phoenix; a son, William Mary Ann Markulin of Lynhurst; three grandchildren, Barb Bob Etchells, Ray Karen Eynon and Jennifer Jason Adams; and five great-grandchildren in Phoenix.
Private burial at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
Funeral services will be celebrated at a later date.
