"Together Again"

AUSTINTOWN - A prayer service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Austintown for Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Bokesch, 87, who died Tuesday morning at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Pat was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Sioux Falls, S.D., a daughter of Patrick and Marguerite Sloan Sugrue, and moved to this area in 1949 from Washington, D.C.

She was a graduate of Immaculata Seminary High School in Washington, D.C. Pat was a member of the church, Parish council, and past member and president of the Ladies Guild. She was a cursillista, a member of the St. Joseph Renewal Team, Lay director of Team 7, member of the Saxon Club Branch 22, and past president of the Saxon Club retirees. Pat was an accomplished pianist , an avid bowler and a talented writer who wrote a monthly column for the Volksblatt.

She was married to Henry G. Bokesch, whom she married May 11, 1946, and he died April 24, 2008.

Pat leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Peggy (Mike) Beaudis of Austintown, Val (Gene) Thomas of Carmel, Ind., and Michele (Bryan) O'Shaughnessy of Canfield; a son, Mark (Patty) Bokesch of Austintown; seven grandchildren, Dr. Craig (Lisa) Beaudis, Tricia (Barry) Smart, Christa (Greg) Blasko, Casey and Kylie Bokesch, and Erin and Meghan O'Shaughnessy; and six great-grandchildren, Madison, Alexis and Devin Beaudis, Hunter and Cydney Smart and Jordan Blasko.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Bokesch family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Hospice of the Valley for their lovely care of Pat.
