BOARDMAN - Private family services were held for Patricia A. Bushee, 58, who passed away Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Patricia was born Oct. 9, 1955, in Bethesda, Md., the daughter of the late Conrad J. and Joann (Brasher) Driscoll.
As a young woman, Patricia became interested in the medical profession while volunteering at the Red Cross while her husband was in the military. She ended up graduating from nursing school at St. Francis University in Fort Wayne, Ind. She subsequently worked at Lutheran Hospital, Covington Manor Nursing Home, and at the local Hospice.
She loved sewing, especially costumes for her kids and grandchildren. Her greatest love was vacations at the beach. She especially loved the beach at Harbour Island in the Bahamas, but her favorite place was at Nags Head and Cape Hatteras in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Her parents had taken her there as a child, and it became a tradition for yearly gatherings with family members and relatives.
She loved huge family meals in Maryland, eating and picking blue crabs. She was also a collector of memorabilia showing crabs and palm trees.
Patricia leaves her husband, Gary S. Bushee, whom she married Dec. 27, 1975; a daughter, Morgan (John) Phillipp of Indianapolis; two sons, Tyler Bushee and Kendall Bushee both of Boardman; two grandchildren, Madison and Katelin Phillipp; two brothers, Michael (Susan) Driscoll of Christianburg, Va., and Kevin Driscoll of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and her mother- and father-in-law, Myrtle and Leon Bushee.
Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Joann, in 2005, and her father, Conrad, who was a retired naval officer, in 1986.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
