YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will begin Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., celebrated at St. Christine Church for Patricia D. Ferlaino (Chan) Cooper, 54, who died Wednesday in Alexandria, La.
Patricia was born Feb. 7, 1959, in East Liverpool, the daughter of John and Judy (Atkins) Ferlaino.
After graduating from high school, she then attended nursing school at the Francis Tuttle Vocational and Technical College, earning her nursing degree. She had worked as a LPN nurse while serving her country in the U.S. Army. She was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Alexandria.
She is survived by her husband, Ray L. Cooper, whom she married Sept. 19, 1995; her parents, John and Judy Ferlaino of Youngstown; a daughter, Angel Chan of Youngstown; a son, John R. (Jodi) Chan of South Carolina; a sister, Stephanie K. Ferlaino of Cleveland; a brother, Michael A. (Tangee) Ferlaino of Howland; four grandchildren, Ariya, Alaya, Vincent, and Alexavier Chan; three stepchildren, Donovan, Christopher, and Michael Cooper; and 10 stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Theresa Chan and a sister, Cecilia Marie Ferlaino.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
