YOUNGSTOWN — Patricia J. Logan Kasaris, 82, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2024.

Born in Youngstown on Sept. 19, 1941, to Charles Lyle and Mary Connors Logan, Patricia “Pat” was a 1959 graduate of Ursuline High School. She went on to become a licensed practical nurse and provided extraordinary care and compassion to patients at area hospitals and nursing homes where she worked during her 30-plus year career.

Her career as a loving caregiver shadowed her personal life that was dedicated to caring for others. Pat was a selfless giver and never a taker, always putting the needs and desires of others before her own needs and desires. Pat enjoyed a simple life, and her greatest joy was the time that she spent with her family, from her parents and siblings to her own children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, as well as those who became her family through her marriage with Manuel M. Kasaris. While raising her children, she cherished the annual Logan family vacations on the shores of Lake Erie. As a grandmother, she treasured family times on the St. Clair River with a close-up view of the passing majestic freighter ships of the Great Lakes. No matter the purpose of the family event — vacations, birthday parties, graduations or weddings — her happiness, steady smile, laughter, dancing eyes and warm hugs were the hallmarks of her presence.

Pat was an avid reader and card-game player and especially loved watching her television shows and football games. She could not miss a Notre Dame game.

Though spending time with family brought her the greatest joy, she was most proud of her children. If she frequented an establishment or spent an extended amount of time with anyone, they would undoubtedly hear Pat talk about her sons and her daughter, as she spoke of them with unabashed pride. From the cashiers at her local IGA to the caregivers at Niles Assisted Living Facility, each would labor to guess which son they were meeting, with, “Are you one of the lawyers, or one of the sons who owns his own business?”

A dedicated member of the Holy Family Senior Club, Pat actively contributed to her church. She proudly served as the president of the residential council at Niles Way Senior Living.

Pat was preceded in death by her husbands, John Stanley Rydarowicz and Manuel M. Kasaris.

She is survived by her four sons, Attorney Daniel (Susan) Kasaris of North Royalton, Thomas (Wendy) Rydarowicz of Wadsworth, Attorney John (Rhonda Knight) Patrick of North Olmsted and Paul (Jeanette) Logan of Austintown; her daughter, Dr. Julie Stancliff of Fallston, Maryland; her sister and best friend, Janice Stamp of Poland; her brother, Charles (Grace) Logan of Youngstown; 14 grandchildren, Demi (James) O’Shea-Moran, Dr. Melanie (Michael) Bloomfield, Danielle (Nick) Harubin, Alyssa Kasaris, Autumn Rydarowicz, Adam Rydarowicz, Brayden Patrick, Kyla Patrick, Emily Stancliff, Hayes Stancliff, Avery Locke, Hannah Logan, Hailey Logan and Lily Logan; and two great-grandchildren, Nora and Declan O’Shea-Moran.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road.

Prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the funeral home, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Pat’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Niles Way Senior Living and Briarfield at Ashley Circle for the care and compassion they provided to Pat toward the end of her life.
