AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will begin Monday at 11:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM noon at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Patricia A. Kikta, 70, who died late Tuesday night at home surrounded by her family.
Patricia was born Dec. 11, 1946, in Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph and Alberta (Shrank) Orwell.
She was a graduate of Chaney High School. Patricia worked as a beautician for many years as well as Floral Plus, until retiring to raise her family.
Most recently, Patricia worked as a server at Plaza Donuts.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where she served as treasurer of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Patricia loved to cook and enjoyed playing Bingo, lottery and going to the casino. Most of all, Patricia enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by her husband, John Kikta, whom she married May 20, 1967; a daughter Lisa M. (James) Briganti of Fredricksburg, VA; two sons, John A. Kikta of Austintown and Craig (Jolene) Kikta of Austintown; four grandchildren, Jess Briganti, Connor Briganti, Pete Briganti, and Jacob Kikta; and nephews Jason and Eric Orwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Nicholas Briganti; and brother Robert Orwell.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the funeral home.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd. Austintown, OH 44515.
