Patricia Ann Moritz

July 27, 1950 — September 5, 2024

POLAND - Patricia (Patty) Ann Moritz, 74, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024 after a courageous battle with health issues stemming from diabetes.

Patricia was born July 27, 1950, in Ellwood City, PA, the daughter of Tony "Archie" Ciro and Jean Matteo. She had a very close relationship with her Grandmother, Caroline Barkich and her Aunt Helen “Hennon” Barkich, both of whom had a significant role in raising her.

Patricia was a graduate of New Brighton High School, class of 1968. She played the drums in the high school band. Patricia could play the drums just from listening by ear to the music.

Patricia married Dennis Moritz on November 8, 1970. They first met on a blind date and have been married nearly 54 years. They are long time residents of Poland, OH. When first married, Patricia began her career as an Escrow Officer at Ohio Title, then went on to work at Youngstown Sheet and Tube as a File Clerk.

Once she had her only daughter, Jennifer, she dedicated her time to being a homemaker. Patricia’s nickname for her daughter was Dodi, which she called her often. She took her daughter everywhere with her as she grew up. They made their own nacho parties together while they watched a show or movie. They shared many loving talks and spent a lot of time together. Years later, she went back to work as a Title Agent with Popio Title.

Patricia loved music, especially Motown music, which her daughter took on a love for as her mother shared with her so many songs . Patricia loved humor and to make others laugh. She enjoyed the piano and played for some time. Patricia also enjoyed going shopping and out to eat. Her deepest pleasure was spending time with family. She greatly missed many relatives that have passed on that she is now reunited with.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Dennis Moritz of Poland; their daughter, Jennifer Millerleile of Poland; and her cherished only grandson, Jaxton Millerleile, as she would say, her Jaxy Cole. She loved spending time with him and loved having him draw her pictures.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
