PITTSBURGH - Prayers will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Austintown for Patrick "Paddy" Joseph Burke, 30, who passed away Thursday night, Jan. 14, 2016, in Gillette, Wyo., from an accidental overdose and a longtime struggle with addictions.
Patrick was born Oct. 17, 1985, in Pittsburgh, the adopted son of Michael and Paula Burke.
Patrick attended schools across the nation, finishing in West Virginia. He was a happy kid, with a big heart and an incredible intellect. When he was younger, he was bubbly, rambunctious, curious and silly. Growing up he enjoyed sports, family and friends, and a passion for music, cooking and the outdoors. He was currently living with his parents in Gillette, seeking employment after being a hit and run victim in December of 2014.
Patrick was loving and always concerned about those he loved.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Paula Burke of Gillette; a daughter, Aubree Ann of Gillette; brother Michael (Becky) Burke of Gilbert, Ariz. and their three children, who loved him dearly!
Family and friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
The family requests the memorial tributes take the form of contributions to St. Francis of Assisi School scholarship fund, 525 Holley St., St. Albans, WV 25177.
