GLEN ALLEN, VA. - Patrick William Kachurek, 49, passed away, surrounded by love, in the early morning hours of Jan. 15, 2015.
Patrick was born Aug. 12, 1965, in Austintown, the fifth child of loving parents, Agnes (Gromofsky) and Joseph Kachurek.
He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School and graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1983. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Wright State University, and firmly believed education was a lifelong pleasure.
Most recently employed as an Apple Care technical support advisor for Apple Inc., he had previously worked as a CaTS Help Desk analyst at Wright State University, an information technologist at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich., and in customer service at the Center of Science and Industry in St. Louis.
Best known for his sense of humor, an ability to make people laugh, and a kind heart, Patrick shared his deep love of trivia and board games, misheard song lyrics, good books and films, and Apple products with those around him. He enjoyed road trips, collecting signed books, a love of good food, and the company of friends.
Patrick married the love of his life, Lynda Phillips, on Aug. 31, 1997, in a rose garden.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes (Gromofsky) Kachurek; his godparents, Helen and George Semeraro; and several aunts and uncles.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Lynda (Phillips) Kachurek, of Glen Allen; brothers Robert J. (Annamarie) Kachurek of Lyndhurst and Terence R. (Jacqueline) Kachurek, of Marengo; sisters Sandra J. (Robert Liptak) of Springfield, Ohio, Diane M. (Zachary) Szakacs of Austintown, and Joanne M. (Brian) Reiser of Canfield; godson and nephew Nicholas Delio; nephews John Kachurek, Trevor and Austen Reiser; nieces Natalie (Jose) Manzanares, Laura (Michael) Pinto, Catherine (Bret) Young, and Alexandria Szakacs; four great-nephews and great-niece; uncle Raymond Kachurek; aunts Dorothy Blasko, Rita Johnson, and MaryLou Hudak; and several cousins, and many good friends.
Services will be held at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, 4303 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 19, and a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan 20. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
