Paul Bezjak

CANFIELD - Paul G. Bezjak, 89, died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024 at Brookdale Senior Living in Austintown. 

Paul was born Nov. 30, 1934, in Youngstown, the son of George and Mary Vranekovic Bezjak. 

He was a 1952 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and earned a Bachelor's degree from Miami University of Ohio in 1956. While in college, Paul was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and worked at WRMU and WMUB FM Radio Stations. 

After graduating, Paul served his country in the United States Army.

 Paul worked as a regional claim manager for Universal Underwriters Company for 35 years until retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, where he served as an usher and was a member of the Men's Club. 

Paul is survived by his wife, the former Phyllis Walko, whom he married Oct. 24, 1964, and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary; two sons, David (Cheryl) Bezjak of North Canton and Steven Bezjak of Cuyahoga Falls; sister Dolores (Thomas) Schurko of Boardman; brother Richard G. Bezjak of Deerfield Beach, FL and his beloved Granddaughter, Emily Bezjak.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law Beverly Bezjak. 

Family and friends may call Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024 from 2 to 5 pm at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. 

Prayers will begin Monday, Nov. 4, 2024 at 10:30 am at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Joseph Church. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested material tributes take the form of donations to St. Vincent DePaul of Youngstown.
