AUSTINTOWN - Paul A. Czombos, 54, of the city's Westside, passed away Thursday at his home in Austintown.
Paul was born in Youngstown, Nov. 11, 1957, a son to Andrew and Carolina Alhimook Czombos.
He was a 1975 graduate of Chaney High School and worked at Sorce, Inc. in Canton for 27 years.
Mr. Czombos was a huge football fan and enjoyed watching all sports with his sons and friends. His interests included politics and being a major supporter of our military service men and women. His favorite phrase in support of his son and fellow marines everywhere was "Semper Fi."
Mr. Czombos leaves behind two sons, Michael and Daniel, to mourn his loss. Paul's greatest sources of pride in his lifetime were Michael being a decorated Marine with eight years of service for our country, including four combat deployments, and now working for the U.S. Department of Defense in Wilmington, N.C., and Daniel being a self-taught and highly talented musician and guitarist who resides in Cornersburg.
In addition to his sons, he is survived by his devoted mother, Caroline, and sister, Andrea Czombos, both of Youngstown's westside, and his sister, Carole Hoffman from Charlotte, N.C.
Also mourning his loss is his former wife, Debra Mastrovaselis Czombos Fulton. He will also be greatly missed by his best buddy, the family dog, Max. Paul was also excited about becoming a first time grandfather this coming October.
Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel, a Vietnam veteran and his father, Andy.
Extended family and friends can pay their respects to Paul's family during a memorial service to be held Monday, May 16, at 5 p.m., officiated by Pastor Ronald Blakeman at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be graciously accepted by Mr. Czombos' family to assist with Paul's final expenses.
