YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Paul L. Dolak, 74, who passed away Wednesday evening, at Hospice House, with his family by his side.
Paul was born Oct. 22, 1938, in Youngstown, a son of the late, Paul E. and Mary (Gonda) Dolak.
Paul was a 1956 graduate of Chaney High School. He was superintendent of the Mahoning County Sanitary Engineers and retired after 35 years of service.
Paul also owned and operated Dolak Enterprise and was a registered professional surveyor for the State of Ohio. He was a member of the Board 60, Public Employee Retirees and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He was a former member of the Holy Name Church, where he was also a parochial football coach.
Paul loved fishing, boating, golfing, and spending winters in Florida. He was a member of the Mahoning County Engineers Golf League, where he was past president, along with numerous other golf leagues. Paul had a passion for cooking and being around family and friends. He was an enthusiastic YSU supporter and tailgater.
Paul leaves his wife, Esther C. Geraci, whom he married Aug. 6, 1960; a daughter, Lori (Dane) Littleton of Amherst; three sons, Larry Dolak of Austintown, Paul J. (Jody) Dolak of North Lima, and Joe (Jen) Dolak of Austintown; nine grandchildren, Jake, Dan, and Jessica Littleton, Zack, Mitch, Tyler, Julia, Lauren, and Nick Dolak; and three great-grandchildren.
Paul was also preceded in death by a sister, Irene Belick and a brother, Richard Dolak.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
