AUSTINTOWN Prayers will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Paul E. Olsavsky Jr., 83, who passed away Monday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Paul was born Nov. 17, 1925 in Youngstown, the son of the late Paul E. and Margaret Pritoka Olsavsky Sr.
Paul attended Chaney High School prior to joining the Navy. He served in the South Pacific during WWII.
Paul worked in the Open Hearth at Republic Steel for 31 years, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed football, dancing, polkas, and working in his yard. Paul, also known to many as ³Uncle Paul², will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Paul leaves his lifelong companion, Fay Parlas of Warren; a sister Dorothy Goldman of Chesapeake, Va.; nieces and nephews, Charles Linda Olsavsky of Evansville, Ind., David Lydia Olsavsky of Canfield, Thomas Rose Olsavsky of Howland, Kenneth Olsavsky of Canfield, Georgia, Gretchen, Grant, and Edwin, all of Virginia, Leslie, Allison, and Drew all of Florida; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Olsavsky and a sister, Jane Yurko.
Friends may call today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
