AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church for Paul M. Remias, 85, who passed away Thursday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Paul was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Youngstown, a son of Paul and Anna Remias.
Paul was a 1950 graduate of Chaney High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from Youngstown State University. He served as an air policeman in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Paul was the transportation manager for the Youngstown Vindicator for 39 years, retiring in 1996. He was a 60-year member of the Masonic Argus Lodge 545 F&AM and was also a 50-year member 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite Valley of Youngstown. He was also a member of the Al Karan Shriners, the American Legion Post 301 where he was past commander, the VFW, the 18th Frighter-Bomber Wing Association, the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 137, the Tri-State Antique Auto Club, and the Mahoning Valley Mustang Club. Paul was also a huge Ohio State Fan.
His greatest love was for his family, especially his grandchildren.
Paul leaves his wife, the former Linda M. Kehl, whom he married Sept. 10, 1960; a son, Richard (Kelly) Remias of Columbus; two grandchildren, Brady and Abby Remias; sister-in-law, Norma Remias of Canfield; brother-in-law, Col. Retired USAF Richard (Judy) Kehl of Dayton; two nieces, Wendy Stettner of Burke, Va. and Denise Remias of Canfield; two nephews, Leonard and Brian Remias of Canfield; and Mark Kehl of Riverside, Calif.; and many cousins.
Paul was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Remias; and a brother, Leonard Remias
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church.
