Youngstown - Services will held at 9:30AM Thursday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and 10:00AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Austintown for Pauline Sobey DiOrio who passed away Sunday evening.
Mrs. DiOrio was born February 2, 1924 in Ernest, PA the daughter of John and Pauline Stehney Sobey. She was employed in the accounting department at JC Penny, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Church and its Altar and Rosary Society as well as teaching catechism classses. She enjoyed reading and travelling.
She was a wonderful, caring, and compassionate; wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She leaves her husband of 57 years, Anthony DiOrio, whom she married October 2, 1948, a son, Daniel Jackie DiOrio of Rice, VA, twin daughters, Elaine Ed Barker with whom she made her home and Jeanne John Fortunato DiOrio of Boardman, a sister, Helen Sobey Senoyuit of Hermitage, a brother, Joseph Sobey of Allegheny, NY, 8 grandchildren, Jill Beaver, Dan DiOrio, Alex and Jacob Barker, Erin Powers, Michael Barker, and Mary Jo and John Fortunato, and a great-grandchild, Zeita Beaver. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Andy, John, George, and Chuck, and 3 sisters, Anna Sobey, Mary Carsone, and Julia Thompson.
