POLAND ? A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning, at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Peter D?Amico, 90, who died Sunday at Masternick Memorial Care Center in New Middletown.
Peter was born Jan. 21, 1920, in Hillsville, Pa., the son of Joseph and Carmella Tomasello D?Amico.
He had served in the Army during World War II and later worked at the former Republic/LTV Steel Corp as a mill wright for 38 years, before retiring in 1982. He had also operated a family farm with his brother, in Bessemer, Pa. for many years. He was a member of the Holy Family Church and the American Legion in Bessemer.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Catanzarite, whom he married Jan. 11, 1964; a sister, Rose Don Polas of Poland; many nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard, Mike, Carmen and Joe; and two sisters, Mary and Grace D?Amico.
Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Holy Family Church.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to either Hospice of the Valley or the Holy Family Church building fund in Pete?s memory.
The family would like to thank their friends and neighbors, Debbie, Brenda, Pat and Beverly for all of their care and the staff at Masternick Memorial and Hospice of the Valley for their care during Pete?s illness.
