Philip Prosser

BOARDMAN - A prayer service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Church for Mr. Philip J. Prosser, 81, who died Thursday morning at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pa.

He was born June 23, 1931, in Youngstown, a son of Philip and Marcella McFadden Prosser.

Philip is a graduate of Ursuline High School and received a B.A. in History at the University of Notre Dame. He was an Army veteran serving overseas during the Korean Conflict. He had worked as an Independent Insurance Agent with Cailor-Fleming Insurance and had worked with his wife, Carol, in her business Prosser/Yosay Photography as a professional photographer. Philip was a member of St. Charles Church and had served as an usher.

He married the former Carol McCudden on July 29, 1961, and she died Oct. 6, 2008.

Philip leaves his daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Prosser Brown and her husband, David of Louisville, Ky.; a son, Philip J. Prosser Jr. and his wife, Dr. Maria Madden Prosser of Chardon; two sisters, Peggy Prosser Scheetz and her husband, Joseph of Boardman and Mary Jane Parrish and her husband, David of Columbian, Md.; a brother, John Prosser and his wife, Susie of Charlotte, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Carolyn, Catherine and Christopher Brown and Agnes Prosser.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
