POLAND - Prayers will begin Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. the Holy Family Church, for Phyllis Ann Kramer, 83, who died early Monday morning at home, surrounded by her family.
Phyllis was born May 20, 1931, in Youngstown, to Dr. Gordon G. and Gladys (Metts) Nelson.
She was a class of 1949 graduate of Boardman High School. Phyllis was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family. After raising her family, Phyllis became a real estate agent for Dave Roberts and Coldwell Banker.
Phyllis was a past member of the Poland Women's Club, the Poland Garden Club and the Poland Swim Club.
She is survived by her husband, Carl E. Kramer, whom she married Nov. 23, 1950; a son, Gordon "Nels" (Susan) Kramer of Enfield, Maine; daughters Joni (Mark) Catlos of Poland and Carol (Tim) Baillie of Salem; a sister, Judy (Dave) Mantle of New Jersey; and six grandchildren, Brad (Nadiann) Baillie and Katherine Jayne Baillie, all of Columbus, Karl Kramer of Boston, Leah Jayne Kramer of Enfield, Michael Catlos of Boardman and Jayne Elizabeth Catlos of Poland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Jayne Elizabeth Kramer, who died in 1987.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, material tributes take the form of donations to the Jayne Kramer Memorial Fund for Early Childhood Education, Kent State University Advancement Services, 1061 Fraternity Circle, Kent, OH 44242.
