Quintino Vallonio

March 10, 1920 — September 13, 2008

CANFIELD - Prayers will begin at 10:00 AM Tuesday morning at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Charles Church for Quintino Vallonio age 88 of Canfield who passed away early Saturday morning at his home.

Quintino was born March 10, 1920 in Fagnno Alto Aquila, Italy.

He had immigrated from Italy to Canada and later located in Youngstown in 1949. He was a veteran of the Italian Army, a member of St. Charles Church and loved to work in his garden. Mr. Vallonio was a craftsman and installer of marble, tile and terrazo flooring for the Bertolini Company for over 20 years before retiring. He later worked for Bob Cene and his family as a gardener for over 25 years.

His wife the former Ida Constantini whom he married September 23, 1943 died January 8, 1998.

He is survived by his two daughters Laura A. Cene of West Palm Beach, FLA, and Angela David Smolar of North Royalton, OH, five grandchildren, Danny Walsh, Brian Walsh, Lisa Walsh, Amy Smolar and Lori Chad Lieb, and one great-granddaughter Danielle Walsh, he also leaves his good friend Miss Margaret Potts.

Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his four siblings.
Friends may call from 5 PM to 8 PM Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.

The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to either the American red Cross or the American Heart Association in Quintino's memory.
