BOARDMAN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Ralph B. Berard, 95, who died Friday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Ralph was born Nov. 20, 1918, in Youngstown, to Bruno and Raffela (Esposite) Berard.
After graduating high school, Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during World War II. He worked for many years for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail sorter until his retirement.
Ralph was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan, and loved doing crossword puzzles. Ralph enjoyed bowling and dancing with his wife.
Ralph will always be remembered for his kind, loving, and generous heart.
Ralph is survived by his wife, the former Eileen E. Syron, whom he married June 24, 1975; two daughters, Patricia Coryea of Boardman, and Mary E. Sullivan of Florida; three grandchildren, Heather Owen, James P. (Tammy) Vaughn II, and John W. Vaughn; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Owen, Alissa Vaughn and James P. Vaughn III; and three nieces, Janet Rozzo, Gean Wycoff, and Judy Ulicney.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Guy, William and Ernest Berard; and three sisters, Janis, Antonette and Josphine Berard.
Family and friends may call on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
