VIENNA? Prayers will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown for Ralph W. Connor, 87, who passed away Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Ralph was born Dec. 8, 1921 in Cleveland, the son of William F. ?Bucky? and Isabella Miller O?Connor.
Ralph attended The Rayen School. He was a Combat Engineer for the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. Ralph was a structural iron worker for the Iron Workers Local 207 for 65 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3307 and a member of the Loyal Order of Cooties.
His wife, the former Christine M. DeRosa, whom he married Nov. 24, 1949, passed away Oct. 17, 1996.
Ralph leaves his two sons, Jim Connor of Youngstown and Bill Connor of Vienna; his two grandchildren, Kim Connor of Austintown and Michael Linder of Washington State; and three great-grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
